Wet plates

This is one old-time process that is very time-sensitive! The process is called “wet plate” for a reason: In order to get an image the plate must remain wet during the exposer process. The amount of time one has to develop the plate depends on different factors like temperature and humidity, but we generally shoot for under ten minutes.

You’ll get the same beautiful results, whether in our studio or on location, thanks to our mobile darkroom.

Behind the curtain

Follow along for an intimate look at the tintype process as it unfolds in real time, capturing not just faces, but fleeting moods, stories, and the unmistakable texture of the present moment.
